Joseph DeLauro

Built in 1786, Erasmus Hall Academy is the oldest school structure in New York. Empty for years and in severe disrepair, the academy building is a designated landmark (yet suffering from great neglect). As the school is landmarked, I presume it is much in its original structure/design. As the oldest remaining school in NYC, the benefits in restoring it are obvious. (March 2010)
