Longtime gathering spot connected to Brooklyn's seafaring past
I don't know a lot about the history of this space, but I have always experienced it as a repository for urban memories, both real and imagined. I have fallen in love here, danced, always felt welcomed, and of course, partaken in the 4th of July festivities.
The jukebox is one of the best in the city, and the nautical details of the interior are particularly evocative. (June 2009)
